ALEJANDRO BARRIOS CARRERO

Venezuelan Architect (Universidad Central de Venezuela, 1994) and Interior Designer (Parsons School of Design, 2000). While at Parsons, Alejandro was awarded 1st Prize at the New York Decorators Club Competition in 2000. After Parsons, he worked in New York City with Victoria Hagan Interiors, and then in 2002 he returns to Venezuela and founds his own firm, having designed by now over 40 high end residences and more than 50 commercial projects in South America, the Caribbean and the United States. In 2007, he was awarded both the first prize at the Salón de Arquitectura Interior (SAI) and the BTICINO Design Award for his first restaurant design, Café Atlantique in Caracas. In 2013, he received the James Beard Best Restaurant Design Award (76 seats and over) for Juvia Restaurant in Miami Beach and he relocates to Miami in 2014 maintaining an office in Caracas.

His projects stand out for achieving a perfect balance between architecture, interior design, art and nature. They are mostly designed from the inside out, working very closely with clients and with the place where the project is located; giving a unique personal touch to each project.
